John Horm started out in photography forty years ago under the mentorship of a newspaper sports photographer in Pennsylvania while taking formal classes in the arts and science of photography. Since that time John has continued photography as a professional photographer doing natural portraiture and corporate photography. His corporate photography has appeared in many corporate publications, tourist brochures, news media and advertising campaigns. His true love of photography and the outdoors shows in his fine art photography. John is usually up before sunrise at a park or wildlife refuge looking for the perfect spot or subject to photograph. Once the spot is chosen to photograph, he has to be alert and patient. If nature cooperates the picture is taken. This scenario can repeat itself a dozen or more times before one picture is selected for his portfolio. Today John is transitioning into using digital cameras and does his own printing in a state of the art digital darkroom.
